Our Story
For a decade now, Empire Engineering, PLLC has operated as a NYS Registered Professional Engineering company. The founder, Christopher Longo, PE has extensive background in both land development design and construction. Growing up in a family-owned business completing Heavy-Highway Construction projects, he obtained the fundamental understanding of the mass of effort and resources required to make a successful project.
Christopher obtained a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Syracuse University and has held a Professional Engineering License registered with the State of New York since 2016.
Christopher has seen many projects through completion, ranging from single family home projects, to subdivisions to full large scale industrial parks. His in-depth work with stormwater design, roadway layout, parking configurations and water & sewer design makes him capable of designing a variety of development endeavors.
Our Approach
We take great pride in the work we undertake and the projects we participate in. Our philosophy is to approach every project as if it were our own. By doing this we ensure that the maximum amount of effort, concentration and detail is put into all of our work.
We utilize tried and true engineering principals as the backbone to all of our designs while keeping in mind an ever changing market of available products and practices.
All projects are meticulously managed by the project lead, Christopher Longo, PE. As a first step, Christopher communicates with the client to outline all objectives of the project and clearly define expectations. At these initial meetings, work plans and time schedules are set out so all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the expectations.

Christopher Longo, PE
Christopher Longo is a Civil Engineer bringing next generation thinking to the industry all while designing on sound engineering principles. Building from significant construction management experience, his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and engineering design experience, he has the tools and expertise to ensure a successful land development project.
Christopher has been involved with many land development projects incorporating site planning, utility designs, and storm water management design. He has developed site plans, designed water and wastewater infrastructure, presented projects to municipalities, performed soil investigations for design, and facilitated regulatory permitting and approvals.
Christopher has extensive experience with site layout & grading design, utility infrastructure design, and development & implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans. He has produced numerous engineering plans, reports and conducted inspections for a variety of project types including residential, commercial and industrial sites. Each site design included a unique challenge which helped to build the repertoire which he now draws from when tackling the next project.
Emily Jacobson, EIT
Emily graduated from Mercer University in Macon, GA before joining our office in September 2025.
Emily understands the building blocks necessary to bring a project from concept to a comprehensible plan with appropriate details and specifications. Emily’s educational background and prior work experience qualifies her to prepare deliverables, plans, specifications and initial project documents as well as execute AutoCAD plan sheet maintenance.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys camping and running.
William Benosky
Bill has been our field and office technician for the past 5 plus years here at Empire Engineering. Bringing with him many years of experience from Municipal Public Works highway design/construction projects along with a background as a Land Surveying field and office supervisor.
Bill provides support as needed to our team in various ways to each of our projects.
When not at work, Bill can be found spending his time in the great outdoors on some adventure.
